Just-In-Time (JIT) conversion of RM to FG, companies can minimize inventory costs and reduce waste, ensuring that materials arrive precisely when needed for production. This approach helps maintain lean operations and lowers storage expenses.

Collaboration with Reliable Vendors: Partnering with dependable suppliers ensures the consistent quality of raw materials, which is crucial for producing high-quality mattresses. establishing strong relationships with vendors can lead to better pricing, timely deliveries, and mutual growth.

For the mattress industry, Sustainability can be prioritized by Use of eco-friendly raw materials, Optimizing energy and water throughout the production process to reduce the postproduction carbon footprint, Designing durable and long-lasting products through R&D and Implementing circular economy practices like take-back programs and recycling initiatives.

We at Godrej Interio being an active member of this industry are deeply committed to sustainability. A standout feature is the use of water-based, biodegradable glue, which is free from solvents and significantly reduces volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ensuring a safer product and production environment. Our boilers at our factory, essential for curing the binders in mattress production, have undergone a transformative upgrade from diesel to Piped Natural Gas (PNG), further enhancing the sustainability of the process.

The shift from diesel to PNG in the boilers, has resulted in a remarkable 80% reduction in diesel consumption. This transition not only cuts down on emissions but also aligns with Godrej Interio’s broader sustainability goals. We have also implemented energy-efficient manufacturing processes, including the use of VFDs (variable frequency drives) on pumps and blowers, and heat recovery systems. This, combined with our investments in solar energy, which now provides 10% of our total electricity needs, demonstrates our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.

Godrej Interio’s ambitious sustainability goals extend beyond immediate gains. By 2032, the company aims to derive 50% of its revenue from its Good & Green product portfolio and source 40% of its energy from renewable sources.
