Sleep Expo Middle East reinforces the importance of Sleep
Walid Abdel Malik, Director of Business Registration and Licensing in the Business Registration & Licensing (BRL) sector in the Department of Economic Development (DED), inaugurated the very first staging of Sleep Expo Middle East at the Dubai Festival City Arena.  The event opened its doors to both trade visitors and consumers across the region, showcasing the latest advances in the sleep technology space.

 

About the event
A first-of-its-kind event in the region, Sleep Expo is the only event in the Middle East focused on advancing the sleep movement. Sleep  Expo  Middle  East, came to a close in April leaving the public with a better sense of the importance of quality shut-eye. The three-day event witnessed new collaborations and discussions between and amongst industry peers,  while consumers who attended the show took great interest in the insightful conference presentations as well as the variety of sleep products and solutions showcased at the exhibit.

 

Event Agenda
The event, had a three-day exhibition featuring an expansive showcase and live demonstrations of cutting-edge sleep technologies and solutions; a world-class two-day conference designed to tackle new developments, scientific discussions and best practices in sleep health; and, a dynamic Sleep Care Zone, a dedicated area for visitors to experience services that will aid them in better sleep.

Fuelled by a mission to highlight how lack of sleep takes a serious toll on personal health and the economy. Sleep Expo Middle East offered a first-hand look at some of the latest and most unique products and solutions in the sleep market. The event also amplified further the discussion about the need for people to prioritize sleep to optimise their health and wellbeing.

The show also saw a good mix of attendees from the business community. Among those who visited the show include hotel and resort managers, hospitality professionals, company owners, as well as delegates from international brands relevant to the sleep industry. About 40 Stalls were humming with full vibration of attracting the consumers of the Sleep Products in multiple directions.
Apart from regular mattress many new products like silent pillows for the snoring people, ortho and spine care mattress were displayed. Much attention was paid on health care equipment’s like fit bits, stress, relieving furniture etc.

 

Key Highlights
A renewed focus on quality sleep has become a key trend driving the market growth of the mattress industry.  Based on the latest research carried out by a leading international advisory organisation promoting awareness on the link between sleep and health, mattresses can affect the quality of slumber a person gets every night.  This has pushed mattress technology to grow in leaps and bounds over the years, the latest breakthroughs of which are highlighted at the event.
The second day of the conference focused on the B2C segment with discussions on common consumer sleep issues.  Key topics discussed include: Sleep in Pregnant Women, Babies and Children; How do Sleep Patterns affect our Psychology, Lifestyle, and Relationships; and, Dealing With Sleep Deprivation and Insomnia Effectively in the Workplace among others.
Sleep Care Zone, meanwhile, is a dedicated area for guests to try services that will aid them in better sleep.  Among the most interesting features of the zone are free Sleep Consultations with experts from top-notch brands Nurture to Sleep and London Sleep Centre, Yoga-Nidra Classes, Foot Massages, and more.

 

New Technology in Sleep Accessories
New Technology mattresses, Textiles, Sleep Accessories were displayed. The latest models of quilting machines, mattress making machines, tape edging machines also made the visitors thrilling. Visitors from about 15 countries attended the Expo and from India 10 companies put up their stalls in the Expo. Many medical doctors took part in the seminars and gave valuable advises on the concept of sleep science.
SLEEP EXPO 2019 has brought the industry leaders together and highlighted the importance of communicating brand attributes. Each brand in the industry is special in its own sense, offering unique experiences. SLEEP EXPO ME has allowed them to do so, strengthening both their individual brands and the industry overall.
